“Station de Tadcaster ; Yorkshire Water –- Achat de 4 aérateurs Aqua Turbo et rénovation de 7 autres aérateurs flottants

A major refurbishment carried out by AECOM on behalf of Yorkshire Water is presently at the completion stage at the Tadcaster WwTW works.

As part of the scheme Aquasystems International NV’s have supplied 4 and refurbished a further 7 Aqua Turbo Floating Aerators.

The main project involves the re-furbishment 7 x 5.5kW Aqua Turbo Floating Aerators and supply of 3 new units of the same size. These were used as an alternative to the Pure Oxygen Treatment Method which has been replaced due to H & S concerns.

An existing Final Tank was converted to an ASP by AECOM and the tank had to be specifically overhauled due to the high water table in the area.

The Tadcaster Waste Water Treatment works treats effluent from the local brewery and also some of the municipal waste.

ARUP partners were involved in the Consultancy as the work had to take place during the ongoing operation of the existing pant and a number of months were involved in the planning and implementation process with the client.

Aquasystems International NV provided Floating Aqua Turbo Aerators and 10 of the units plus one standby were installed in January 2016 together with starters and cabling.

A spokesman for AECOM commented that the all parties involved are extremely pleased with the performance of Aqua Turbo Floating Aerators during this extensive refurbishment programme at The Tadcaster works. The works has met its consent due to the additional aeration capacity provided by Aquasystems International NV.
